I created Selling with Kids because I saw a need for an easier way to make it through the home-selling process. In 2009, my wife and I moved from Denver to Minneapolis with our son, who was nine-months-old at the time, as well as two dogs. Selling our home in Denver, while living there with our son and pets was a challenge! We found it very stressful to keep our home clean and “show-ready.” We went through the process again, in 2013, when we sold our home in Minneapolis; this time with two kids, now four-years-old and two-years-old, and our dog. The most difficult time was the hour before a showing, when we were racing around the house trying to pick up toys, clean spills, and vacuum dog hair, all while trying to keep the kids from making any more of a mess!
My goal is to take the pain and chaos out of the selling process, whether you have young kids or not. Your home is your largest financial asset and selling it can be stressful enough; without worrying about spilled toys or whether you left dishes in the sink before the next showing.
