My team arrived to a clients’ condo prior to a scheduled showing. The tenants had left for the holiday weekend and, not expecting any showings, had left full recycling bins and clean dishes stacked on the counter, sink, and stove. It was not a disaster but not presenting the kitchen in the best light. Buyers want to see counter space, not racks of dishes (clean or not).
After taking out the recycling, putting the clean dishes away, and wiping off the counters, the kitchen feels much bigger and is ready for the showing.
As this situation shows, it is not necessary to have kids in order for the Selling with Kids process to work for you. My clients can be confident that their apartment will show well no matter what their tenants are up to. It’s all about getting the home sold quickly, for the most money, with the least amount of inconvenience.
